diy Frau Litsa melt and pour soap

Today we are going to make strawberry soap using the melt and pour method for our friend and neighbour Frau Litsa. It is very easy to make and can be a creative activity during the afternoon coffee with your friends. The formula contains strawberry seed oil and mono de Tahiti butter because we want to give moisturizing properties to our soap and avoid the feeling of dry skin after bathing.

Frau Litsa melt and pour Soap
formula for ~300 g | 10.6 oz

300 g | 10.6 oz white m&p soap base
5 g | 0.18 oz strawberry seed oil
4 g | 0.14 oz moon de Tahiti butter
6 g | 0.21 oz strawberry fragrance oil
a few drops pastry colouring

tools:
silicon cake cold
cutting board
knife
pipette
1 beaker 500 mL
electronic thermometer
high accuracy digital scale
1 stainless steel whisker
spray bottle with rubbing alcohol 99%
  • Before you start making the soap, sanitise tools, containers and work surface. Wear your gloves. If you are a beginner, it will be helpful for you to read here, how we make soap using the m&p method.
  • Weigh the soap bases, cut them into cubes and leave them aside.
  • In the beaker, pour the soap cubes and place in a water bath over low heat. Once the soap has melted, remove the pan from the heat and stir. Add the color and mix lightly. When the temperature of the soap reaches 60 degrees Celsius, add the strawberry oil, the monoi de Tahiti butter and the fragrance oil. Stir again.
  • Spray with alcohol into the mold, pour the soap and spray again with alcohol to remove any bubbles.
  • When the soap hardens, unmold and wrap it with plastic wrap so that it does not lose its fragrance and moisture.
For the strawberry leaves, I melted white soap base (about 100 g), added green pastry colouring and poured the soap into the mold using a pipette.
Another way is to paint the leaves with a brush, mixing mica colouring with alcohol.
