The blog, after a long period of rest, thought and meditation returns with a moisturising butter for the lips because of the intensely heat wave! The last few days are so hot that I find that my lips are more dehydrated than ever before.
So I decided to create a balm with shea butter which, according to me, is the king of hydration and I know that it softens and smooths the lips directly. Then I remembered that I had made vanilla infused almond oil, which has a warm, sweet and sensual scent. Vanilla contains ingredients such as eugenol and vanillin (hydroxybenzaldehyde), which have excellent anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, while the balm has extra moisturizing properties from almond oil.
I also used beeswax because it creates a thin protective film and kokum butter (you can find it, here) because it gives a nice texture in general to the products and is an excellent softening agent for the lips.

9.5 g | 0.34 oz vanilla infused almond oil
8 g | 0.28 oz shea butter
2 g | 0.07 oz kokum butter
5 g | 0.18 oz beeswax
0.5 g | 0.02 oz vitamin E

Firstly, you must sterilize tools, equipment and work surface and wear your gloves.
Prepare a water bath, by filling a heat- proof saucepan 1/3 full of water and place it to low heat. Weigh all the ingredients. Add the butters, the oils and the waxes into the beaker. Place it in your prepared water bath to melt everything through.
Remove the beaker from the water bath and dry it off with a towel. Stir with a stainless steel whisk to incorporate. Add vitamin E and stir thoroughly. Pour now the coconut extract and stir again.
Pour the lip balm into tubes or tins (this formula will fill 5 balm tubes) and leave it to solidify before capping.
Enjoy!
