Massage candle started to become popular about 10 years ago and has many uses. It transforms your home into a spa as it scents and illuminates creating a nice atmosphere, lifts the mood, while the liquefied wax is ideal for a relaxing massage but at the same time moisturizes the skin in areas where there is a problem (heels, elbows, etc.)
Most massage candles of the market that I have come across, usually consist of 100% soy wax and in rare cases contain one more agent, which is very simple for my tastes, so I decided to make my own with the ingredients I like.
30 g | 1.06 oz kokum butter
10 g | 0.35 oz shea butter
10 g | 0.35 oz baobab oil
10 g | 0.35 oz sweet almond oil
5 g | 0.18 oz jojoba oil
5 g | 0.18 oz plum kernel oil or fragrance oil (I used Lilac f.o.)
you’ll need also:
wick
wax container
Sterilize tools, equipment, work surface and wear your gloves. Weigh the ingredients.
We center the wick in the container you have chosen as you can see in the photograph below:
Add the soy wax in a beaker and place in your prepared water bath. When the soy wax melts, add all the other ingredients EXCEPT the plum kernel oil or the fragrance oil you have chosen, to melt everything through. Stir lightly with a hand stirrer and when the mixture is ready, remove the beaker from the water bath.
Add in the beaker the plum kernel oil (or the fragrance oil), stir and pour your mixture in the container.
Plum kernel oil has its own natural scent and which allows the preparation of aromatic cosmetics and soaps without the addition of extra aromatic ingredients. If you want another fragrance for your candle, then you will replace the plum kernel oil with a fragrance of your choice.
- Soy wax is ideal for making natural candles. Its low melting points and emollient properties make it ideal for massage candles.
- Kokum butter soothes the skin that suffers from some form of skin disease, shea butter nourishes and moisturizes without leaving greasiness while baobab oil is antioxidant and acts against free radicals.
- Sweet almond oil heals the skin, jojoba oil deeply nourishes while plum kernel oil (if you use it) is one of the oils with the fastest absorption by the skin.
how it works?
Once you light the wick, the product heats up and melts and the room is flooded with its scent. Carefully drop a little liquefied wax in your hand and massage in circular motions.
Unique treatment that will balance the central nervous system and activate the body's heat receptors.
