diy African Black melt & pour Soap Cake

African Black melt & pour Soap Cake by Stella Crown
This time the menu has a different soap, an exotic soap, a soap with roots in Africa!Actually, it is a mixture of coconut oil  and shea butter, rich in antioxidant ingredients, cleanses in deep and the most important, it doesn’t “dry” the skin comparing it with other soaps of the market; it moisturises the skin so much that you don’t need to apply a lotion on you after bathing!
It does not contain SLS.

Special guests: bitter chocolate which contains proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins A, D, E, B, minerals and trace elements, caffeine and herbal substances. Flavonoids and catechines have a strong presence that results in the antioxidant effect of chocolate, while goat milk is a component rich in vitamins A, B6, B12, regulates the pH of the skin, removes the dead cells, refreshes and hydrates in deep. I also added apricot kernel powder for light peeling and I stop here, let’s go to the recipe👇

*the soap is consisted of 5 layers

27 g | 0.95 oz goat milk powder
5 g | 0.18 oz shea butter
5 g | 0.18 oz coconut oil
6 g | 0.21 oz chocolate food favouring
apricot kernel powder

5th layer:
270 g | 9.5 oz african black soap base SLS free
6 g | 0.21 oz chocolate food favouring
some drops of bitter chocolate

tools:
saucepan
silicon mold
cutting surface
knife
3 beakers 500 mL
electronic thermometer
digital scale
whisker
measuring spoons
fork
cling film (plastic wrap)
spray bottle with alcohol or alcoholic lotion
  • Before we start making the soap we sterilise tools, containers and work surface while we don’t forget to wear our gloves.
  • Weigh the soap bases, cut into cubes and leave them aside.
  • In a beaker 500 mL pour the ingredients of the 1st layer except the flavouring oil. Place the beaker in a bain marie; I use a saucepan as a double boiler, this method is called bain marie. So, fill a heat-proof saucepan 1/3 full of water and place it to low temperature. Place the beaker now into the saucepan an let the soap melt.
  • Once you see that the soap is melted, remove it from the heat and mix with the whisker to make sure the the soap is well melted. At 55 degrees Celsius, add the flavouring oil and mix thoroughly.
  • Spray with alcohol in the soap to remove any bubbles and spay also into the silicon mold. Pour the soap in, spray with alcohol again and place the soap into the fridge.
  • When the soap is hardened remove it from the fridge and grave the soap surface with the fork. This is to make sure that the layers will stick together.
  • In another beaker 500 mL pour the ingredients of the 2nd layer except the apricot kernel powder and the flavouring. Place the soap in bain marie, melt it and then remove it from the heat. Stir a bit with the whisker and when the soap reaches 55 degrees add the flavouring oil. Just before the soap starts to harden, add the apricot kernel powder. Mix thoroughly. Be careful at this stage, not to thicken the soap enough because you won’t be able to pour it in the mold. Spray again with alcohol the melted soap but also on the surface of the 1st layer. Pour in carefully, not to melt the 1st layer and spray again with alcohol.
  • Place the soap in the fridge. When it cools down, grave it with the fork and prepare the 3rd layer.
  • For the 3rd layer: we melt only the soap base. Pour the soap base in the beaker, place it in a bain marie, when melts, remove t from the heat. Add the mica colour and mix; the intensity of the colour is up to you. Add the flavouring oil at 55 degrees Celsius and spray with alcohol the melted soap. Spray also into the cold, pour the soap and spray again. Put the soap back to the fridge.
  • When the soap is hardened, grave it again and prepare the 4th layer.
  • Repeat the same procedure for the 4th layer, as the 2nd one.
  • For the last layer repeat the same procedure as the 1st one.
  • Once the soap cools down, take it out of the mood and wrap it in cling film (plastic wrap) in order to maintain its scent and moisture.
  • Enjoy!
